In the Warm-Up the students have to talk about their preferences in shopping, stores, products, likes and dislikes. In the presentation the teacher gives and explanation about the vocabulary, grammar, phrases and main expressions about shopping. The students talk about the differences between some stores, supermarkets etc. The teacher gives explanation about and the students have to describe according to a power point presentation some pictures about vocabulary about shopping. the students have to talk about the shopping expressions. Which expression have they used when they went shopping and finally the students talk about one experience about shopping.
c. How successful were activities and materials?
The activities and materials were very successful. The three students participated actively during the class and activities. They explained about their preferences of shopping and stores. They used vocabulary and good expressions to describe this topic. They interacted with each other. They have a good level of English. Oscar has good vocabulary and he is fluent in speaking but he has some problems with the connections sometime. Oscar arrived 26 minutes later to this session.
d. What departures did you make from the original lesson plan?
I planned to show a short video about shopping vocabulary but I couldn’t find a good one. In the part they have to describe the tools or elements in each department of a department store or mall, they have some difficulties and I have to explain because we were running of time.
e. What difficulties did learners experience in different stages of the lesson?
The first one was in the explanation of the departments. They couldn’t understand very well, so I have to explain in Spanish some tools and explain a little faster than the other topics in this session. In the last part they did some explanations in Spanish because they
didn’t know how to express the whole sentences in English, so, we mix Spanish and English a little.
f. What aspects of the lesson did you feel were particularly successful?
They understand the differences between the different stores, supermarkets, department store and etc. They tried to explain with their personal information about their preferences in shopping, good and bad experiences about it.
g. What aspects of the lesson did not work particularly well? Why?
The description of the departments in the department store. Probably I didn’t explain very well what the intention was for this activity.
h. What aspects of the lesson should be done differently next time?
Some explanations. If I notice that they don’t get the idea, I have to explain in Spanish or try to explain in another way that they can understand. To show them more examples about different stores, more vocabulary about tools, shopping items and etc.

The students talk about their places, neighborhood or towns. Then the teacher gives an explanation about the vocabulary, grammar, phrases and main expressions about houses, places of living and descriptions about this places and the students have to say if they know the kind of house and then match the name of the place according to the picture. The students have to give a deeper description of their place taking into account the vocabulary seen. the students have to talk about the and describe some pictures in the power point presentation using the descriptions and adjectives seen and finally the students talk about their dream place to live.
c. How successful were activities and materials?
The activities and materials were successful because the two students participated in a good way. They understood the majority of the vocabulary, grammar and expressions, in the case they didn’t know the meaning or translation of the vocabulary or some words I explained in Spanish and correcting pronunciation. They share opinions about their places of living. Towns, etc. They described houses, apartments and etc in a correct way giving adjectives and descriptions related to the pictures and materials given.
d. What departures did you make from the original lesson plan?
The dream place of the students. I prepared the class for a long time: one hour and a half but the time flew and when we were finishing the description of the types of houses, we still had a lot of time to finish the class and I talked to them that they had to talk about their dream place to live.
e. What difficulties did learners experience in different stages of the lesson?
Some vocabulary new for them. I had to explain some words and expressions in Spanish. Marinela is lack of a lot of vocabulary, so, for she was a little difficult to give long sentences and understand all the explanations given during the class. She had some problems describing the kind of houses. Too short descriptions from Marinela.
f. What aspects of the lesson did you feel were particularly successful?
The vocabulary and explanations about the types of houses. They understand the differences between them. They could explain and describe the type of houses and they used adjectives to describe the types of houses.
g. What aspects of the lesson did not work particularly well? Why?
The last part I think. For Marinela was a little difficult to describe in long sentences and to give deeper descriptions of the types of houses. Probably I had to give more examples about adjectives to describe them.
h. What aspects of the lesson should be done differently next time?
To give more examples about the topic. To show them more adjectives or ways to describe something. Firstable more activities or exercises writing and then speaking because some students didn’t understand or know how to speak in a fluent way, so, they can write and feel less pressure to talk than speaking directly because their level of English in this case is low and we have to create a comfortable environment.
